We are seeking a friendly and patient-centered Administrative Assistant to join our Pediatric Ophthalmology and & Adult Strabismus clinic in Westwood. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth front desk processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Register patients and verify insurance coverage and eligibility
+ Schedule appointments
+ Collect patient payments and perform encounter registration in EMR systems
+ Obtain and upload medical records
+ Answer phone calls
Salary Range: $26.42-37.49 HourlyQualifications
Required
+ One year experience working in a medical office including scheduling patient appointments, answering telephones, interacting with patients and familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans
+ Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff and doctors
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Flexible personality and ability to adapt to changing needs of department
+ Ability to interact calmly and effectively with patients with difficult personalities
Preferred
+ Experience registering patients in UCLA Encounter Registration system
+ Experience working in a teaching environment
+ Experience working in an Ophthalmology practice
