The Role

ECB STAR is seeking a senior executive recruiter to lead its Asset & Wealth Management practice. This role is designed for a seasoned search professional who combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership. The Practice Leader will oversee all aspects of the search lifecycle—from client acquisition to delivery—while shaping the firm’s presence in the asset and wealth management sector. This is a high-impact position that blends business development, client advisory, and team mentorship, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a boutique, high-growth environment with global reach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic growth plan for the Asset & Wealth Management practice
  • Lead and mentor a team of consultants, associates, and researchers
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with senior executives and institutional clients
  • Oversee delivery of Managing Director, C-suite, and Board-level search assignments
  • Promote operational excellence and ensure adherence to ECB STAR’s search methodology
  • Represent the firm externally through thought leadership, industry events, and client advisory.

ECB STAR seeks a dynamic leader with deep expertise in executive search and financial services. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor to clients, a skilled team builder, and a strategic thinker who can scale a practice while maintaining delivery excellence.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • 10+ years of executive search experience, with a focus on financial services
  • 5+ years of team leadership experience
  • Deep market knowledge of asset and wealth management, including institutional and UHNW segments
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Strong player/coach leadership style with hands-on execution capabilities
  • Outstanding judgment, executive presence, and client advisory skills
  • Proven ability to manage strategic accounts, negotiate complex engagements, and develop talent
