What You'll Do:
Conduct surveys and investigations of nursing homes for compliance with federal and state regulations
Examine complaints, including cases involving abuse, neglect, and poor quality of care
Prepare clear, timely written documentation and Statements of Deficiencies (SODs)
Evaluate Plans of Correction and ensure timely follow-up
Participate in state monitoring during high-risk or immediate jeopardy scenarios
Provide expert testimony at hearings and attend required DOH meetings
Maintain accurate, timely data in federal and state databases
Travel on-site to facilities throughout the New York area as needed

What We're Looking For:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
License: Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license

Experience:
Minimum 2 years in utilization review, medical review, claims adjudication, or surveillance OR
3 years of clinical or administrative experience OR
A BSN with 2 years of clinical or administrative experience
At least 1 year of survey experience is required

Skills:
Strong computer and documentation skills
Excellent written/verbal communication and analytical skills
Ability to manage investigations independently and collaboratively

Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
SMQT Certification preferred (must be completed within 12 months if not currently held)
