Position Title: Senior Estimator - HVAC & Plumbing

Overview:
We are partnering with a respected mechanical contracting firm in Cincinnati, Ohio , to find a Senior Estimator with expertise in HVAC and/or plumbing systems. This is a leadership role ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering accurate, competitive project estimates. You'll oversee regional estimating efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success from bid to build.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead estimating efforts for HVAC and plumbing projects in the Cincinnati region.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain and improve estimating tools and databases.
• Ensure smooth project handoffs from estimating to project management.
• Draft clear, concise scope letters and conduct scope reviews with vendors.
• Stay current with industry-standard estimating software and participate in training as needed.
• Provide estimating support to other regions when required.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC or plumbing estimating experience.
• Alternatively, completion of an approved apprenticeship program plus 3 years as a Journeyman.
• Proven ability to lead and finalize complex job estimates.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of plumbing and piping systems.
• Excellent math and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable presenting to clients and conducting scope reviews.

Education & Certifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman Plumber or HVAC license (or equivalent experience) preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to conduct site visits, including climbing ladders and accessing equipment.
• Vision correctable to 20/50.
