Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mold Designer to join our engineering team in Meadville, PA. The Mold Designer will be responsible for creating detailed designs and drawings for injection molds, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams to deliver precision tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop injection molds based on project requirements and customer specifications.
Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Review part designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility.
Update and maintain mold design documentation.
Troubleshoot and modify existing mold designs to improve performance or address production issues.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety guidelines, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in mold design, preferably in injection molding.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of mold construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with CNC machining processes.
Knowledge of mold flow analysis software.
Familiarity with GD&T and precision measurement tools.

Location & Work Environment

Based in Meadville, PA.
Office and manufacturing floor environment with occasional customer or vendor visits.
