The Planet Group has an immediate need to assist our client in hiring a Workday Financials Manager. This is a Direct Hire/Perm position . Hybrid working environment—3 days onsite in Leawood, KS and 2 days remote (so this would require someone local or someone open to relocation).

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager – Workday Financials is a key role in supporting and optimizing Workday Financials across our client’s brands. This position will report to the SVP of Finance and Accounting and will require a blend of Workday report writing skills, Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) maintenance experience, proven systems process enhancement experience, GAAP accounting knowledge and the ability to excel in a fast paced, ever changing work environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail oriented, a self-starter, naturally inquisitive, and has a passion for automation and process improvements. This position works cross-functionally between Accounting, FP&A, Operations and IT ensuring Workday Financials is effectively leveraged to support business needs and drive operational excellence. The Manager - Workday Financials will also serve as a subject matter expert on Workday reporting, the Financial Data Model (FDM), and system enhancements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the operation and maintenance of Workday Financials, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Key player in administering Workday modules including: Financial Accounting (including Intercompany), Banking & Settlement, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Business Assets, Employee Expenses, Projects, and Reporting.
• Collaborate with team leads/controllers to appropriately configure system solutions to improve accounting & finance processes.
• Partnering with Information Technology and broader Workday team on solutions.
• Maintain and update Workday FDM structure, ensuring modification and enhancement requests are tracked and authorized with applicable approval and subsequently made timely and accurately.
• Implement calculated fields, condition rules, and other configuration changes to solve business challenges.
• Maintain Workday FDM structures (cost centers, hierarchies, and security roles) and analyze the impact of FDM changes on financial reports to ensure data integrity.
• Design, develop, and maintain complex Workday reports (advanced, matrix, composite).
• Build Workday Dashboards and Discovery Boards, as needed, to provide real-time insights.
• Collaborate with IT for implementation of system projects including testing and deployment of Workday’s semi-annual releases.
• Provide support and guidance to Finance and Accounting team on Workday processes and best practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, management, information systems, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of experience with Workday Financials in an implementation, financial reporting or administration role
• Experience developing Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite) and dashboards
• Workday pro certifications, experience with allocations, Intercompany and Prism preferred
• High level of initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and optimize financial processes
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people in financial and non-financial roles
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
